Healthy Eating and Youth

The youth years are a major transition time. You grow fast. Your body changes. And you start making more, and more important, choices for yourself. It’s a lot of work for your brain and your body!

All that work requires the right fuel – healthy foods, starting with a healthy breakfast. Eating breakfast can not only help you perform better all day long, it can help you maintain a healthy weight, because when you skip breakfast you lower your metabolism and your body burns calories more slowly. You also tend to fill up on less healthy foods later in the day. End result? You’re hungry, you have low energy, AND you start to gain weight. How fair is that?
