Road to Health

The 2008 ActNow BC Road to Health Community Tour

It’s free. It’s fun. It’s for everyone of all ages. It’s coming to a community near you.

The ActNow BC Road to Health Community Tour is coming to your community. Learn more about the benefits of an active, healthy lifestyle and have loads of family fun for free.

Bring the kids and play cool games like the Makoto, do the Bop, Hop and Boogie, try Virtual Skipping or play a giant 10 foot Piano with your feet!
For adults, you can take a health knowledge quiz and learn tips that will help you look and feel great.

Take the ActNow BC Passport to Health and learn new ways to keep healthy as you tour the pavilion. At the end take the ActNow BC Healthy Living Pledge and be eligible for prizes.

You can take the Healthy Hearts Assessment at select location and dates of the ActNow BC Road to Health Community Tour. This program has registered nurses that administer heart health risk factor screening. The assessment will include:

• Total cholesterol (TC), HDL-cholesterol, TC/HDL ratio and glucose (blood sugar).

• Blood pressure, height, weight, body mass index and waist girth measurements.

• A risk assessment identifying your individual heart health risk factors and your overall risk for developing heart disease.

• Educational materials and recommendations just for you to help you lower your risk factors and improve your health including help with personal goal setting.
